This is a precise REPLICA of a 1940's department store display bust that was molded directly from a vintage model. She is fantastic and is by far the best one that I have seen with gouged pupils and scribed irises that looked "right" (they don't look as nice as the totally hand-painted at six inches but display superbly at normal distance and add another dimension). The height is 15" and forehead circumference is 20" but she was made with a "hat loop-line" so hat size would be about an inch larger. She was intended to display hats and is one of the best models for this purpose. Apparel is for display only and not included in the sale.

I prefer the historically correct look and feel of plaster with the castings. We utilize the best casting plaster that US Gypsum offers and it possesses properties significantly superior to the old plaster of Paris used with the originals. Plaster is timeless and will withstand the test of time.

Our models closely resemble the originals in weight and feel and carry the original and charming mold marks that are characteristic of handcrafted work. These marks should not be considered defects and only add character to the artwork. Our models are made to look, feel, smell and taste very similar to what the vintage model would when new (no better, no worse). These replicas are in no way ever meant to deceive and the undersides of the bases are hand-scribed with the year, our signature, and are numbered in the order that they are made.
