This is a precise REPLICA of a late 1940's department store display bust that was molded directly from a vintage model. She is over 15” in height and is a great size for vintage hats and jewelry. The artist must have had a vision of what he considered the perfect lady’s face and I feel it would be difficult to improve on this one. Apparel is for display only and not included in the sale.

This model was cast in US Gypsum #1 casting plaster (much stronger and more chip-resistant than normal plaster). I prefer plaster because it is historically correct, is timeless, and stable for many generations to come. All of the work from the molding to the casting is done here by us.

Our models closely resemble the originals in weight and feel and carry the original and charming mold marks that are characteristic of handcrafted work. These marks should not be considered defects and only add character to the artwork. Our models are made to look, feel, smell and taste very similar to what the vintage model would when new (no better, no worse). These replicas are in no way ever meant to deceive and the undersides of the bases are hand-scribed with the year, our signature, and are numbered in the order that they are made.
